The educational project ‘Trade with Europe – Good or bad for developing countries?’ is part of the Partnership for Change project, in which organisations from the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom participate.
This project is about Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs), free trade agreements that the European Union wants to conclude with its former colonies. Within developing countries and the European Union a fierce debate between those in favour of and against these EPAs has been going on for some time now.
In the teaching module and on this website we would like the pupils to study the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs), their relationship to the millennium development goals and their consequences for the daily lives of (small) producers in developing countries in greater depth, based on the source materials.

‘Trade with Europe- Good or bad for developing countries?’ is aimed at pupils of the sixth form. You can download the teaching module for free, but we can also provide you with a full colour version. If you would like to order this version, go to the RISC Shop.
The teaching module refers to this website several times. On this website you will find additional texts and source material that deal with the case studies on the trade in bananas, milk (products), tomatoes, fishery products and water with Fiji, Ghana, Mauritania, Tanzania and the British Windward Islands in the Caribbean.
We hope that the pupils and teachers will enjoy reading and studying this material.
